Public transport accessible. Harmony is a delightful tranquil walled garden comprising lawn, herbaceous and mixed borders, vegetable and fruit areas, and a rich display of spring bulbs. The garden is set around an early 19th-century house (not open to the public), built by a Melrose joiner, who named it after the Jamaican pimento plantation were he had made his fortune. It is situated near Priorwood Garden, also owned by the Trust, which specialises in the cultivation of flowers for drying.
A good selection of shops is available in Melrose including those selling knitwear, tweeds, books and antiques. There is also an excellent choice of hotels and restaurants for eating out.
