Just a few miles from the centre of Glasgow, the richly ornamented Holmwood House is an oasis of calm in the midst of Scotland's largest and most bustling city. Completed in 1858, Holmwood is considered to be the finest domestic design by the architect Alexander 'Greek' Thomson. The house is set within 5 acres of landscaped grounds and is open to the public. Holmwood is only ten minutes away from Glasgow city centre by train, with a walk of ten minutes to the station. It gives easy access to the SECC, the National Stadium and all the shops, restaurants, theatres and concert halls in the city. Entry to this property is via the stair at the front. The property has a charming layout that maximises guests' enjoyment of the views over the rolling grounds of Holmwood. On the entrance floor there is a comfortable sitting room/dining area, a well-equipped and modern kitchen, a double bedroom, and a spacious contemporary bathroom with bath and shower. Internal stairs lead down to the lower floor that comprises one twin and one single bedroom, and one WC. The Coach House is currently available over the festive period and is available from 29 December 2009 to 5 January 2010 at a cost of £550.
